DLE 55cc side exhaust gas engine, 5.5HP with NGK CM6 plug. High-thrust, reliable performance for large-scale RC aircraft.
The DLE 55cc Side Exhaust Gas Engine is a powerful single-cylinder two-stroke engine designed for large-scale RC airplanes. With 5.5 horsepower at 8,500 RPM, it delivers outstanding thrust and reliability for aerobatic, sport, and scale flying.
Featuring a side exhaust configuration, the DLE55 is straightforward to install in a wide variety of aircraft. Its 55.6cm³ displacement, 45mm × 35mm bore and stroke, and 7.6:1 compression ratio provide strong combustion efficiency and smooth throttle response. The NGK CM6 spark plug and electronic ignition system (4.8V–8.4V) ensure consistent starts and dependable performance in all conditions.
The DLE55 maintains excellent balance between power and weight, with a 1330g main engine, 140g exhaust, and 140g ignition unit. It produces 14.5kg of static thrust at 100m altitude and 12.8kg at 1800m altitude, giving it the strength to power large and demanding models.
Recommended propellers include 22x8, 22x10, 23x8, and 23x10, offering flexibility for different flying requirements. The engine is designed to run on a 30:1 lubrication ratio for long service life and reliable operation.
For safety and durability, always install using thread-locking adhesive (Loctite 242/243), follow the recommended break-in procedures, and check all mounting hardware and propeller fastenings before every flight.
