Balsa Wood
Balsa wood sheets are a core building material for RC aircraft, gliders and scale models, thanks to their excellent strength to weight ratio and very easy workability. The Flite Lab stocks a full range of premium balsa wood sheets in 1000 mm x 100 mm size, from thin 1 mm sheeting for skins and tail surfaces all the way up to 20 mm blocks for wing joiners, firewalls and solid parts.
Balsa cuts cleanly with a sharp knife, sands to a smooth finish and bonds well with thin and medium CA, epoxy and traditional wood glue. That makes it ideal for scratch building, repairs and custom modifications on almost any balsa model.
