The Creator Foam Board is a high-quality AA-grade foam board designed for RC aircraft construction and precision model crafting. Featuring a sturdy 5mm foam core laminated with durable paper on both sides, it provides a reliable surface for cutting, painting, and gluing. Ideal for laser cutting and compatible with FliteTest and Rapid Build Series designs, this board combines strength, size, and lightweight handling for superior results.

Compared to Dollar Tree or Maker Foam alternatives, Creator Foam Board offers nearly double the sheet size and has enhanced paper bonding which increases overall durability, making it a preferred choice for both novice and advanced builders.

Why Creator Foam Board stands out

Creator Foam Board is produced to AA grade quality with firmly bonded paper on both sides of the foam core. The stronger paper adhesive creates a true composite panel that stays flat, resists bubbles and does not peel easily when you cut or score. Each sheet is almost twice the area of standard Dollar Tree or Maker Foam board, which means fewer joints and less waste when building larger models or multiple airframes.

Which projects suit 5mm foam board

5mm Creator Foam Board is the go to thickness for:

• RC aircraft fuselages, wings and tails in FliteTest and Rapid Build Series designs
• Sturdy school projects and architectural models
• Cosplay props and costumes that need more strength
• Display and signage where a rigid board is required

For finer detail parts, control surfaces or very small models, consider 3mm Creator Foam Board.

Creator Foam FAQ

Creator Foam Board is an AA grade foam board with a dense foam core and strong paper laminated on both sides. The paper is bonded more firmly than on typical cheap craft boards, which helps the sheet stay flat, resist bubbles, and avoid the paper peeling when you cut or crease it. Compared to common Dollar Tree or Maker style foam board, Creator Foam Board sheets are almost twice the area and have tougher paper, which makes them better suited to RC aircraft and other structural builds.
Each Creator Foam Board sheet is 1016 by 813 millimetres. That gives you a large working area for cutting RC airframes, cosplay parts or multiple small projects from a single sheet. Standard hobby foam board, like Dollar Tree or Maker Foam, is usually around 20 by 30 inches, so a Creator sheet is close to double the usable area of a typical single board.
Yes. Creator Foam Board is compatible with Flite Test and other foam board plans. The sheet size and paper faced foam core work well for folded style wings, fuselages and control surfaces, and it is ideal for The Flite Lab Rapid Build Series kits that are based on foam board construction. Many Flite Test style designs use similar paper backed foam such as Adams Readi Board or Maker Foam, so Creator Foam Board drops into that ecosystem easily.
Creator Foam Board itself is not waterproof. The foam core is closed cell but the paper faces will absorb water if they are exposed to rain, wet grass or standing water. For casual park flying in dry weather you can use it as is, but for longer life you can seal exposed paper with clear packing tape, acrylic paint, light polyurethane or similar coatings. Flite Test builders often use clear water based polyurethane or Minwax type products, or tape, to protect foam board airplanes from moisture.
Creator Foam Board works well with the same materials used on most foam board RC builds. Low temperature hot glue, foam safe cyanoacrylate, PVA or wood glue and contact adhesive are all commonly used, and standard clear or coloured packing tape sticks well to the paper. Solvent heavy sprays or enamel paints that attack bare foam should be avoided on exposed foam edges. You can cut Creator Foam Board cleanly with a sharp hobby knife and straight edge, and it is also suitable for laser cutting and light etching when the laser is set correctly and used with good ventilation, which is how The Flite Lab Rapid Build kits are produced.
