DLE 20cc Side Exhaust Gas Engine (DLE20) – 2.5HP RC Airplane Engine with NGK CM6

The DLE 20cc Side Exhaust Gas Engine is a precision-engineered single-cylinder two-stroke engine designed for RC model aircraft. Delivering 2.5 horsepower at 9,000 RPM, this compact engine provides excellent thrust and efficiency for aerobatic and sport flying.

With a side exhaust layout, the DLE20 is easier to install in a wide variety of airframes, especially scale and sport models requiring simple muffler positioning. Its 20cm³ displacement and 10.5:1 compression ratio ensure reliable performance, while the NGK CM6 spark plug and electronic ignition (4.8V–8.4V) deliver consistent firing.

Weighing only 670g for the main engine, plus 60g for the exhaust and 140g for the ignition system, the DLE20 maintains an excellent power-to-weight balance. Static thrust output reaches 6kg at 100m altitude and 5.3kg at 1800m altitude, making it dependable across various flying conditions.

The engine is designed to run on a 30:1 lubrication ratio and supports a wide propeller range, including 14x10, 15x8, 16x6, and 17x6, giving pilots flexibility for different aircraft and flying styles.

For safe operation, always install with thread-locking adhesive (Loctite 242/243), follow proper break-in procedures, and ensure all mounting hardware is secured before flight.
