The CYS-S0005 5g micro analog servo is designed for small RC aircraft and similar models where every gram counts but you still need dependable control response. Running on a standard receiver supply of 4.8V to 6.0V, it delivers approximately 0.8kg/cm torque at 4.8V and 1.0kg/cm at 6.0V with transit speeds around 0.12sec/60° and 0.10sec/60° respectively, which is more than enough for well hinged control surfaces on light airframes. The compact plastic gear train keeps weight down while maintaining reliable operation when the servo is used within its specified torque range.

With a case size of roughly 21.5mm x 11.8mm x 20.9mm and a weight of about 5g, the CYS-S0005 fits easily into micro servo bays in foam board designs, small balsa models and park flyers. It is primarily intended for electric models, although it can be used on aircraft with engines when you mount it with the supplied rubber grommets or other vibration damping to reduce engine vibration reaching the servo. A standard three wire lead with JR style connector means it plugs straight into most modern receivers and flight controllers without any adapters.

For RC builders the CYS-S0005 5g micro servo is a practical choice for equipping small aircraft, keeping a few spares in the field box or experimenting with lightweight flying wings and micro projects. It gives you a predictable balance of speed, torque and size in the familiar 5g class, making it a sensible step up from generic 3g units when you want a little more authority without jumping to a full 9g servo.

Typical uses

  • Aileron, elevator and rudder control on small electric park flyers and foam board aircraft
  • Lightweight gliders and hand launch models with modest control surface loads
  • Micro flying wings and small experimental airframes where space is tight
  • General purpose micro servo duty in robotics and small mechanisms with low torque requirements

CYS S0005 5g Micro Servo FAQ

The CYS S0005 is primarily designed for smaller electric aircraft where low weight and compact size are important, but it can also be used on models with glow or petrol engines if you mount it correctly with the supplied rubber grommets to reduce vibration. That way you still get the benefit of the 5g weight and up to 1kg/cm torque without overloading the servo in high vibration installations.
With torque of about 0.8kg/cm at 4.8V and 1.0kg/cm at 6.0V, the S0005 is well suited to small, well hinged control surfaces on lightweight models, such as ailerons, elevator and rudder on micro and small park flyers, small foam board designs and light gliders. It is not intended for large, highly loaded surfaces or high speed models where a higher torque 9g or mini servo would be more appropriate.
The servo case is approximately 21.5mm long, 11.8mm wide and 20.9mm high, with a weight of about 5g, so it fits neatly in typical 5g micro servo bays and thin wings. Allow a little extra room around the 21.5mm x 11.8mm footprint for the mounting lugs and ensure there is enough depth for the 20.9mm height plus the servo arm and linkage movement.
