The Prolux Thermo-Iron 1361 is a purpose-built thermal sealing iron designed for applying and shrinking heat-shrink film and fabric coverings on RC models. It is intended for covering work on model aircraft, boats and other hobby projects where controlled heat application is required.

The iron uses a thermostatic temperature control knob that allows the user to select and maintain the desired working temperature with minimal temperature drift. This helps achieve consistent results when sealing and shrinking covering materials without damaging the surface underneath.

The supplied iron shoe features a Teflon coated surface that helps prevent scratching and sticking during use, making the covering process smoother and easier. A safety metal stand and protective iron sock are included for safe handling during operation and when the iron is not in use.

Temperature settings

  • L: Low (Off)

Prolux Thermal Sealing Iron with Stand

The Prolux Thermo-Iron is designed specifically for applying, sealing and shrinking heat-shrink covering films and fabrics on RC models. It allows controlled heat application so coverings can be tightened and finished cleanly without damaging the structure underneath.
A covering iron gives you precise, localised heat control, which is important when working around edges, seams, ribs and tight areas. The Prolux Thermo-Iron lets you seal and shrink covering accurately where a heat gun would be too aggressive or imprecise. Once the sealing iron has been applied a heat gun can be used to make the material taught, however the iron is way more forgiving and accurate.
The iron uses an analogue thermostatic control knob with defined temperature ranges. Once set, it maintains a stable working temperature, helping produce consistent results when sealing edges or shrinking covering material.
It is suitable for common heat-shrink covering films, iron-on fabrics, trim sheets and decals used in RC model construction. The smooth iron shoe and controlled heat help prevent sticking or scorching when used correctly.
The iron is supplied with a safety metal stand and a protective iron sock. These accessories improve safety, protect covering material, and make the iron easier to manage on the workbench during use.
