The EV Peak C1 XR supports up to 6 cells on lithium packs and up to 15 cells on nickel packs.
For lithium it handles 1 to 6 cell LiPo, LiIon, LiFe and LiHV packs.
For nickel it handles 1 to 15 cell NiMH and NiCd packs.
For lead acid it works in a voltage range of about 2 to 24 volt which is typically 1 to 12 cells at 2 volt per cell.
Yes, the C1 XR is designed to work on both mains and DC. It has a built in AC power supply that accepts 100 to 240 volt mains, so it will run fine on 220 to 240 volt in South Africa. It also has an 11 to 18 volt DC input, so you can power it from a car battery or DC power supply at the field.
The charger is genuinely multi chemistry. It supports LiPo, LiIon, LiFe and LiHV lithium packs, plus NiMH, NiCd and Pb lead acid batteries. There is a separate mode for LiHV that allows a higher end voltage than normal LiPo, so you must only use that mode with packs that are rated as LiHV by the manufacturer.
The C1 XR is rated at 100 watts of charge power with a maximum charge current of 10 amps. In practical terms that is plenty for common 2S to 4S car and plane packs and for typical 4S to 6S FPV drone packs, as long as you set a sensible charge rate that stays within the 100 watt limit.
Yes, the charger includes balance charge, normal charge, discharge, storage charge and cycle modes. It also has functions to display pack voltage and internal resistance, which helps you monitor the condition of your batteries over time and store them at safe voltages when you are not flying.
