Share the joy of creation and the thrill of flight with The Flite Lab J3 Super Cub, part of the Rapid Build Series.
The J3 Super Cub is a semi-scale radio-controlled model aircraft designed to provide an accessible and rewarding building experience. Its combination of laser-cut foam and ply parts, proven construction techniques, and functional design features make it suitable for both beginner and experienced pilots.
With a high-wing configuration and dihedral for natural stability, the J3 Super Cub offers forgiving flight characteristics and STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) performance. This makes it an excellent choice for newcomers learning to fly, while also providing enough control and precision for more advanced techniques such as slips and crosswind landings.
The fuselage and wings are built from laser-cut white foam, with ply reinforcements used where structural strength is required. Carbon pushrods with pre-formed Z-bends are included for ease of setup. Large wheels and tail gear offer smooth ground handling, while battery straps and decals round out the build for a professional finish.
The model is powered by a brushless motor (~800g thrust, 1700KV) and a 9x6 propeller, and requires standard 9g servos, a 30A ESC, and a suitable transmitter and receiver setup with elevon mixing. The J3 Super Cub supports hands-on STEM learning, making it ideal for educational environments, families, or hobbyists looking to build a dependable sport flyer from the ground up.
