The FlySky FS i6X is an ideal first computer radio for RC pilots in South Africa who want reliable control without breaking the bank. With up to ten channels, telemetry support and the included X6B receiver, it suits fixed wing aircraft, helicopters, multirotors and boats, and connects easily to most modern flight controllers.
Using AFHDS 2A (Automatic Frequency Hopping Digital System, 2nd Generation), the FS-i6X ensures reduced interference, efficient power use, and strong receiver sensitivity. With 135 RF channels and dynamic frequency hopping, it provides stable, secure signals, while 4096-step gimbals deliver precise and responsive control.
Telemetry support (with compatible sensors) enables real-time monitoring such as voltage, altitude, and temperature. The radio also supports i-BUS and PPM protocols, simplifying wiring and increasing compatibility with digital servos and flight controllers.
The included FS-X6B 6-channel receiver features dual antennas, i-BUS and data interfaces, and broad compatibility across FlySky systems.

Flysky I6X Transmitter FAQ
The FS-i6X comes set up as a 6-channel radio out of the box, and with a simple firmware update it can be expanded to use up to 10 channels. The radio also has model memory for multiple aircraft, so you can store setups for a fleet instead of reprogramming every time.
The FS-i6X uses FlySky’s AFHDS and AFHDS 2A protocols and works with popular FlySky receivers such as the FS-iA6, FS-iA6B, FS-iA10B, FS-X6B and FS-A8S, among others. That gives you options for standard PWM, iBus and small lightweight receivers for quads and park flyers.
The FS-i6X is designed for a wide range of models and supports fixed-wing aircraft, gliders, helicopters, multirotors and surface models. It is a good fit for park flyers, sport planes, FPV quads, boats and cars where you want a budget friendly, full-featured radio.
The FS-i6X uses FlySky’s AFHDS and AFHDS 2A 2.4GHz protocols. It does not support Spektrum DSM2 or DSMX, so it cannot bind directly to Spektrum or SAFE equipped receivers. To use SAFE or other Spektrum-only features you would need a Spektrum compatible transmitter instead.
The FS-i6X operates in the 2.408 to 2.475GHz band with 135 hopping channels, AFHDS 2A spread spectrum and dual antennas. In normal conditions it provides solid “park flyer” and club field range when used with matched FlySky receivers and correctly installed antennas. As with any 2.4GHz radio, range depends on the environment, installation and receiver type.
The FS-i6X is powered by four AA batteries and has a low voltage alarm at about 4.2V. It does not have a built-in charger, so rechargeable AAs must be charged in an external charger. The radio does not present itself as a USB joystick by default, so for simulator use you typically plug a separate USB dongle or adapter into the trainer/DSC port.
